Crystal Blue Evening CD Lyrics
September 6, 2010
Crystal Blue Evening There comes a scene awakening on the horizon in the sky. It fills up the air, you can see everywhere that it’s thrilling, let it shine! The sun’s sinkin’ low and its splendor is shone. Did you ever wonder why the colors are formed from the violets to orange? It’s a painting in the sky; shine. The sounds in the trees make a quiet symphony, there’s a message being told, As the brook next to me adds a soft harmony, peaceful music to behold. These are the sights and the sounds of the crystal blue evening, These are the sights and the sounds at the closing of day. Oh, how the twilight is still, there’s a hush as it lingers. Behold the sights and the sounds of the crystal blue evening. The first evening star faintly shines from afar. It seems lonely, but it knows,When it’s joined by the rest of the heavens’ vastness It’s a part of heaven’s show; shine. There’s a feeling that starts growing deep in my heart, It surrounds me where I lie, And there’s no need to hide from the comfort inside, yes I’m happy, God is nigh. These are the sights and the sounds of the crystal blue evening, These are the sights and the sounds at the closing of day. Oh, how the twilight is still, there’s a hush as it lingers. Behold the sights and the sounds of the crystal blue evening.
I Speak of You When I’m walkin’ these lonely pathways, through all the struggle and strife in life and then, all my thoughts start to lift me skyward, into the Son with all my friends. I speak of hope, I speak of peace, I speak of truth, I speak of love, I speak of you. I feel I’m flyin’ over sunny canyons, I feel I’m sailin’ on eagle’s wings you know and, I’m feelin’ fine with life’s companions, I’m feelin’ fine with all my friends. I speak of hope, I speak of peace, I speak of truth, I speak of love, I speak of you. But where would we turn if we had no faith? And what could we see if we had no hope? And what would we be if we had no love? Faith, hope, love… So if you’re walkin’ life’s lonely pathways, and if you’re searchin’ to find your smile well then, just remember the ones who love you, and hold them close in your heart for awhile. I speak of hope, I speak of peace, I speak of truth, I speak of love, I speak of you.
Friend Forever I found a brand new feeling; it comes when you’re around. It’s one that says I’m happy and takes away my frown, and now I’ve solved the mystery of how friends come to be; they’re bound by special meanings - the things you cannot see. But I can still recall the time when I first saw your smile and how it warmed a place here in my heart, and though the day was long ago it seems like yesterday. It’s nice to know a smile can’t fade away. Well, I wish I could be a friend (could be a friend) who does and says it all (who does it all); the kind that is unfailing to catch you when you fall (catch you when you fall); to love just like my Master (the Lord is love), to give and understand, well, that’s the love I’m learning (I know He’s teaching me along the way), and I know He holds my hand. You’re my friend forever and I’ll tell you that it’s true, ’cause God’s the great provider of friends. We’ll stay close together, and I love you through and through, and though I don’t deserve it He gave a very special friend in you.
Song for the City# Well it ain’t exactly ugly, but it certainly ain’t green. I’m standin’ in this parking lot with asphalt to my knees. I hate the smell of pollution, the fragrance makes me weez. ‘Bout time I head on outta here to see some bushes and some trees. There’s peace in the mountains, sweetness in the air, love on every hillside, I’ve got to go out there. I’m hiking in this city; the vistas are replete with mountains made of garbage at the end of every street. Hiking in the jungle can be dangerous and slow, so devoid of any living things I wonder why it grows. There’s peace in the mountains, sweetness in the air, love on every hillside, I’ve got to go out there. Well it ain’t exactly ugly, but it certainly ain’t me. Away from all this concrete to the spaces wild and free, where life can sing and laugh and dance the way it’s meant to be, dee, ‘n, dee, dee… There’s peace in the mountains, sweetness in the air, love on every hillside, I’ve got to go out there.
In the Silence+ Life’s as sweet as the grass under your feet, The tricklin’ in a miniature cascade, The fragrance of the lilacs, the calm of a sunset, Viewed from a far off place, The winged ones fly in the evening breeze, The whispers in the branches and the leaves, The listening ear and reassuring voice of my brother, And in all of these Christ is present also,, I look behind the gift to see the Giver, And in the silence I inwardly pause just to thank Him, Thank you, Lord!
Songbird Songbird, sitting in a tree, singing his songs in the springtime. Songbird, sitting on a fence, you can hear him sing forever now. Songbird, building up a nest, gonna raise a family in the springtime, songbird, looking for a worm, gotta feed his family in the springtime now. Songbird, will you stay here long, singing your songs forever? Songbird, where have you gone – gone forever in the winter? Songbird, sitting on a fence, he has returned in the springtime, songbird, sitting in a tree, you can hear him sing forevermore, oh yeah!
Wings of My Dream My journey began a few years ago, didn’t know just where it might lead. I stepped out in faith to follow the Lord, show a light He placed in me, and I know He will finish the work that He started, ’cause that’s just the way that He is. He’s faithful and true so I wanna be too, and share all the love that He gives. I’m gonna fly on the wings of my dream. I know it’s not half as hard as it seems, ’cause He’s gonna take me there by His hand and a prayer, when I fly on the wings of my dream. When I think back on the life I’ve lived - the times He’s brought me through - it makes me rejoice in the life yet to come, all the things I know He’ll do. ‘Cause He said He would keep us and never forsake us, in fact He’ll be here ’til the end. His promise is true so I wanna be too, and please Him in what lies ahead. I’m gonna fly on the wings of my dream. I know it’s not half as hard as it seems, ’cause he’s gonna take me there by His hand and a prayer, when I fly on the wings of my dream, gonna fly. My greatest joy is serving You, and doin’ it well to glorify You , O Lord!I’m gonna fly on high on the wings of my dream. I know it’s not half, nearly half as hard as it seems, ’cause He’s gonna take me there by His hand and a prayer, when I fly on the wings of my dream, gonna fly. We’re gonna fly on high on the wings of a dream. I know it’s not half, nearly half as hard as it seems, ’cause He’s gonna take us there by His hand and a prayer, when I fly on the wings of my dream.
Rainbow Can you see that rainbow sitting in the sky? The promise of a God who cannot lie. Colors of the spectrum, through a watery prism fly, arc across a dark and stormy sky, stormy sky. It shines for you to see, it shines for you and me, it shines for everyone who will believe. God said He’d deliver in trials like yours and mine. Did you notice when it rains, rainbows shine? They shine for you to see, they shine for you and me, they shine for everyone who will believe. Can you see that rainbow sitting in the sky? The promises of God will never die.
Parcel of Love* A precious girl a wedding stone, and a place to call our home, and my dreams will have become my life, if you will become my wife. What can I say that’s not been said? I’d rather speak with my life instead. When brand new thoughts just can’t be found, it’s not a sign that there’s not a sound in my heart; it still beats for you, and our old holy bond is always new. This is the joy that covers everything, these are the riches counted by a heaven king, this is a powerful parcel of love, and I know I will cherish it, and I know you will to. “Cause more than just the way that I feel – it’s a step of faith with you. Autumn leaves, morning snow, sprigtime rains that make life grow are much less when they are shared all alone – and the miles are all we’ve known. Our days like vapor pass; this love, like God’s, will always last. Rivers change, mountains fade, but His word stays the same, and my word, I know I’m going to do, ‘cause He gave me the strength to be true. (Chorus) A precious girl a wedding stone, and a place to call our home, and my dreams will have become my life, for today, you become my wife.
Stargazing An ancient starry night in the fields outside Bethlehem, shepherds left their flocks to see and worship a new-born king, and on that starry night a single star shone bright, leading travelers through the eastern way to where the new-born babe-king lay. Oh, I’d like to go stargazing tonight, out beneath the silent spheres, under the moonlit sky, and even if it’s cloudy I know the stars still shine, like the baby Jesus born again in this heart of mine. I could stay right here and stare at these stars forever, but miscontrue the reason that the Lord made them to shine, for they were placed on high to lead me to the Savior, to the cradle-side of grace where I’ll behold Him face-to-face. And I know this world and all its night-sky grandeur awaits the glory to come, and I love to imagine new earth and new heavens, and the newness that’s You beyond these constellations, when I go stargazing tonight. Now I’m amazed to think that we can shine like stars, when in our words and actions we’re true to who we are, and we can be that beacon that leads longing souls near, to the manger by the inn, where we can bow and worship Him. Yes, and we’ll go stargazing tonight, out beneath the silent spheres, under the moonlit sky, and even if it’s cloudy I know the stars still shine, like the baby Jesus born again on this silent night, holy night, when I go stargazing tonight.
Ride on Little Cowboy Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you home. Well, the tumbleweed blows o’er the western plain, and the cottonwood sings in the valley below. Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you along. Well the mountains are high and the valleys low, but the pretty little cowgirl is wearin’ her bright blue bow, so don’t be slow, we gotta get on home. Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you along. Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you home. Well, the stars are bright as the moon above and the nightingale’s singin’ his pretty songs of love, we gotta get on home. Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you along. Well, the days at end, it’s been a long, hard ride, and we’re singin’ here by the fireside for awhile, but it won’t be long, we gotta get on home. Ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, I’ll carry you home. Ride on little cowboy, ride on little cowpoke, Ride on little doggies, ride on, ride on, ride on little cowboy, ride on, ride on!
Lu Lu Lani** Lu Lu Lani, Lu Lu Lani, where’d your brother go? All I see is a great big elephant with a trunky nose. Lu Lu Lani, Lu Lu Lani, where’d your brother go? Let’s go ask the elephant and see if he knows. Lu Lu Lani, Lu Lu Lani, where’d your brother go? All I see is a…little monkey swingin’ from his toes…tall giraffe with a neck that grows…great blue whale with a spout that blows…grazing zebra with his striped clothes…hungry lion with a mouth that roars… Lu Lu Lani, Lu Lu Lani, where’d your brother go? We’ve asked around of all the animals and nobody knows. Lu Lu Lani, Lu Lu Lani, where’d your brother go? it’s time to stop your searchin’, I think he went he home!
